Eine Prise Steampunk? - A Pinch of Steampunk for today?

Is it not wonderful, to be able to show one's facets in art, or here in crafts? And maybe luckily get praised for it?
Today I focus on grunge. Tomorrow you will get shabby chic. That is in the profane shape of postcards.
It is one thing to craft them. It is a completely different thing to write them and take a walk through snow and ice to get them posted...
This is a steampunk card for Martina.  Hopefully I could meet her taste:

How-to:
The gears were cut by a silhouette machine,  glued onto white cardboard, embellished with buttons. Give it a coat of white acrylic lacquer to make everything waterproof and fix the individual parts. After it has dried, paint it with acrylics in green/blue, wipe with baby wipe. Coat it with transparent laquer, let dry. Give it a patina with thinned black acrylics, let dry a bit, wipe with baby wipe. After it has dried, give the gears and buttons some dimension with creamy antique silver patina.

I love this Manu! Your painting technique is just terrific and gives such a mysterious, worn and truly Steampunk look! Thank you for the tips on how to achieve this! As always your projects are stimulating and so imaginative. To look at your work is to step into a fairy-tale world of wonder! You are one of the Blogland artists I really admire. Julie Ann xx

Oh it is gorgeous Manu, and dear Martina, will love this special card from you.
The image you used is so beautiful and the idea of creating a book on the card is wonderful. It looks old and tattered, and very steampunkish!!
You are a fantastic artist,dear.

Sehr Manu - like ♥
