Spiel mit Nadel und Faden - Toying with Needle and Thread (Freebie Pattern)

Something different to my attempts to promenade along the serpentines of art today. As much as I like to play with brushes, pastes and poets, I love to try out needle, thread and carpenters' tools.
Old linnen, cotton, not as old, acrylic and chalk paints, the new jigsaw...

The combination of all those materials lead to these little pull-horses in a shabby look.
(In case you wish to make one for yourself, you will find the sewing-pattern in the end of the post.)
Thank yo so much again for paying my a visit and your ever so friendly comments!
Take care with the legs! Give much seam-allowance! The ankles are very thin! If you don't enlarge the pattern to a great deal, you will find difficulties turning and stuffing the fabric!

Teile des Ganzen - Work in Progress

"A Noiseless, Patient Spider".

A quick post before May is over and I have the feeling, I didn't get anything done.
It's my brother's birthday soon and on his wishlist was "anything having to do with "Dark Matter"". Well, this is what I prepared with sisterly love:
Inspiration does not always flow like that. At least not with me. I need something to hold on to. In this case, I had the theme. And to get the maximum input, I refered to one of my reliable (and favorite) poets: Walt Whitman. And I was not disappointed. "A Noiseless, Patient Spider" gave me plenty of brain food. Here it is (even with an interpretation).

As thinking (and the realization of the piece afterwards) takes its time, today I will show you the front only. Part two will come shortly. Please be patient with me, dear friends!

The whole process of making, slowed down, consists of following. Collaging bits and pieces on canvas, stenciling structure paste, giving it a  layer of gesso and afterwards a glazing of thinned acrylics. "Glueing" on transparency with help of melted wax, polishing.
Voilá! Thank you so much for paying a visit!

Weiter geht's im Hoppelschritt - Let's Get on Hopping

Many, many little rabbits have scampered from my work-table into the wide world this year. Among them these cotton bunnies. Those who have not had the instructions to craft them yet, may find them here.

(Weihnachts-)Engel fliegen zu allen Zeiten - (Christmas-) Angels are Always Busy - Christmas Decoration

Tja...

So what... At least I have tried! I had an iron will, but spirit, feeling, flesh and everything else within me strives towards Christmas, my favourite season.
That means, I have already crafted in secret. I admit. And now I really need to show it to you!
Tadaaaaaaa...
The first of my (Christmas-) angels.

Again I was stuck in my comfort zone: nostalgic cotton batting figures. If you wish to try it yourself, please find the instructions here.
In order to give them a sturdy base, I glued them onto paper-wrapped wooden pieces.
I would be happy if you liked my wee angels. If you think it is far too early for Christmas pieces, then just shut the page and we meet another time.

Thank you so much, however, for your visit, dear friends!

Eine Tasche voll Kunst - A Bag Full of Art

Also...

It's not as if I am not dying to show you my most recent Christmas crafts, my dear friends.
But even my hubby is not yet permitted to go shopping for some Christmas cookies... Too early...
So... Here comes a quick interlude...
A shabby pouch which has really turned out shabbyshabby... Pieces of fabric, the waist of an old jeans as a handle, the iron-on transfer of a painting by William Turner and some coffee stains.

"Last Minute" Kürbisse - Autumn Decor before it's too late

After all that artistic dandering I show you some images of mere decoration today before autumn is over.

May I introduce my pumpkins?
(Fabric, fibre fill, rice for stabilization and some embellishments). An image tutorial can be found at the end of this post. In case you still have question, don't hesitate to address me by comment or e-mail. My wording is a little less today as a flood of picture speaks for itself.

Thanks for looking!
